Services to tax professionals
Telephone and e-mail support
Phone us
Sometimes you may find that you quickly need to check on a point of view or get a second opinion. That’s the time when a telephone call to one of our advisers can be the best solution. Unlike some other firms, we don’t have complex subscription arrangements involving a fee up front and “free” advice subject to all sorts of conditions. We don’t give AirMiles or Clubcard points either - sorry. We just bill you for the time we spend giving you useful constructive authoritative advice. And if you don’t agree that the advice is useful constructive and authoritative we tear up the bill. What could be fairer?
020 8922 9201 is our tax helpline number for general enquiries, which is manned by a consultant throughout the working day. Calls to our helpline are charged at a special rate: a ten-minute call will cost just £40 + VAT.
Email us
help@bkltax.co.uk is our dedicated email address for general enquiries. We aim to give at least an initial response to any emails sent to this address within one working day, though we are usually much quicker than this.
Direct access to consultants
As well as our general tax-help email and phone contacts you may also of course contact any of our consultants direct. Availability of individual consultants will of course vary according to workloads, meetings and other commitments out of the office; so for the fastest response on general queries we recommend you use our dedicated email address help@bkltax.co.uk or phone line 020 8922 9201.
Quick advice by phone or email is just the start of what we do
Are you faced with client demands that are outside your comfort zone?
We can report on the planning possibilities and pitfalls and undertake any specialist work that may be required including advising on and drafting clearance applications and dealing with documentation. If you want us to meet with your client we will do so: or if you want us to remain strictly invisible we’ll do that too.
Do you need to find a solution to a client problem?
You wouldn’t necessarily have wanted to have started from where you are; but what’s the best way of resolving the situation that the client has just told you about...? We can usually help.
Could you do with a hand in fighting off HMRC?
We regularly ghost correspondence in contentious cases including full enquiries, aspect enquiries and status disputes. We are also able to advise on taking appeals to tribunal and even take the case for your client if you wish.
Has a case been referred to SCI or CIF?
Such matters can be extremely demanding and time-consuming. We are experienced in dealing with the
form and content of disclosure reports and can either review and supervise the disclosure or take responsibility for the whole matter.
Tax surgeries - your own tax expert for a day
This can often be a cost-effective way of buying in specialist tax advice. One of our tax consultants will visit your practice and be yours exclusively for either a full or half-day. You can use the consultant in any number of ways. You may wish, for example, to:
- Bounce ideas around or get a second opinion in particular cases
- Explore the possibilities of tax planning for particular clients
- Update yourself and your team on particular areas of tax
- Conduct a client surgery, inviting selected clients to an expert consultation.
You choose how the time is structured so that you get the best value from your investment.
Surgeries can be arranged either on a one-off basis or on a regular weekly, monthly or quarterly basis to suit your needs. For details of cost and availability please call us or email surgeries@bkltax.co.uk.
